 A full moon hung heavy in the October night. All heads of the townspeople rested in their pillows. Every eye closed and nose snoring but one.  A pair of green eyes stared at the clock on the wall. The second hand steadily clicked to the right. Although she gaped for eons, her eyes saw nothing but a swirl of black and white. Three short knocks interrupted the clock's hollowing tick.
